寶蓮禪寺的第二任住持筏可大和尚在任42年間，除肩負籌建十方叢林，建寺安僧，辦學興教等重責外，出版多本刋物。1958年，他出版了《大嶼山誌》，對大嶼山佛教寺院與名勝作全面考察，記錄當時的大德居士事蹟和藝文創作，是極其珍貴的歷史文獻資料。
